It is hard to think of any one "word" that has been so much influenced by "political correctness" as "allopathy."
Consider this definition, offered apparently in seriousness, by a standard dictionary:
2 : a system of medical practice making use of all measures that have proved of value in treatment of disease —al·lo·path·ic /"al-&-'path-ik/ adjective (source)
The Merriam Webster publications have been historically inaccurate and harmful to the cause of good communication. People cannot communicate unless others have the same definitions for the words they use as they do. It's that simple. Words have changed drastically over time, leaving books and ideas of the past cut off from the benefit they could be to those in the present.
